Fire Protection - Custom Safes
Safe Zone Ballistics offers a fire rating in all of our safes, a 30 minute for 1200° fire rating. All of Safe Zone Ballistics safes have all 6 sides of the safe covered with fireboard. The door is lined with a heat expanding Palusol seal that expands to 8 times it's size to seal heat and smoke out of your safe during a fire. The more fireboard inside your safe the longer it will be protected. Also, the steel thickness plays a part in the protection. The thicker the steel, the longer it will take for the heat to penetrate the inside of the safe. As reported by the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) in 2006, the U.S. fire department responded to an estimated 1,642,500 fires. These fires resulted in an estimated $11,307,000,000 in direct property loss. In 2006, home structure fires accounted for 24% of the reported fires. That is reported to every 83 seconds a residential fire that occurs in the United States.
